Wrong decision IMO
Don't think cancelling sport shows respect for a start – sport's a great place to show respect as a crowd & can be incredibly moving
But at such late notice it's the fans & their travel, hotels & all the staff who work at sport that'll lose out big time https://t.co/eUPHAzR4Ah

Sport should be going ahead. Use it as a wake or a chance to shout and say stuff, celebrate, whatever. One of best bits of the Queen was the let's get on with stuff vibe

Like others, I think the best way of paying tribute to the Queen this weekend would have been for everyone in football to have united and shown, like fans/clubs last night, the power of sport in a period of mourning.
The Premier League and its clubs have overthought this.

The Queen loved sport, so as a mark of respect it's all being cancelled. I've written about why I think it should go ahead… https://t.co/p0Zc92fnBf

I do want to be sympathetic to the organisers making these decisions because, as I said earlier, there's no precedent. But postponing this weekend's games just feels like overkill. I suspect no one really wants — would the Royal Family? — but they're doing it anyway.

Personal opinion is they should have played. Short notice to cancel for travelling fans, and you can argue not everyone feels it as strongly, not Victorian times – but, even then, football does solemn remembrance very well.

Non-league following the lead of the Premier League and EFL. All National League System, FA Trophy and grassroots matches postponed. #football

This is after they missed months due to Covid. Utterly pathetic.

There is absolutely no sense whatsoever in telling kids and people who've worked hard all week that their Sunday League match can't be played this weekend. None at all. https://t.co/KQ0pC5yQKM
