An absolute disgrace how Pickford has got away with that without any punishment whatsoever, offside or not. You just can’t do that on a football pitch. pic.twitter.com/bn0Q2pnrkr

That is an absolutely horrendous challenge from Pickford. Clearest red card you will see all weekend.

Off-side or not off-side, for Jordan Pickford to get away with such a dreadful challenge on Van Dijk is astounding.
Being off-side isn’t a free pass for serious foul play.
What an absolute disgrace.

Still absolutely baffled. Cannot comprehend how that Pickford challenge is just forgotten about because of an offside. It’s dangerous and just completely out of control. What is VAR for if it’s not even flagged something so blatant?

There's no red for Pickford because the offside cancels serious foul play afterwards. Challenge classed as this.
Compare to VVD being through on goal. Pickford would not be sent off for DOGSO if VVD offside.
Violent conduct still punishable, not serious foul play. #EVELIV

Here's the PL guideline for VAR:
"Direct red-card incidents and cases of mistaken identity are two of the four match-changing situations where the VAR may intervene in cases of 'clear and obvious errors' or 'serious missed incidents', including when play is stopped"#EVELIV
